Low Energy Home
Low Energy Home Tralee Co Kerry
On this project we were tasked with taking the house from timber frame stage to completion. The Client wanted to achieve as close to passiv standards with out actually applying for passiv certification.
The timber frame was clad in 80mm Gutex woodfibre, 200mm Studs blown with Cellulose, 40mm service cavity filled with Thermo hemp, plasterboard and skim finish. The roof was externally clad with breathable insulation board, membrane and double batoned to allow the roof to ventilate from the outside. Internally as with the walls the studs were blown with cellulose, Intello breathable airtight membrane, hemp filled service cavity and plasterboard finish.
The continued use of natural insulation materials and the high standard of airtightness achieved coupled with the use of heat recovery ventilation system and a geothermal air to water heat pump ensured we achieved the Ber rating of A2
